The Jacques-Cartier is basically the favourite playground for cross-country skiing. Whether you prefer classic skiing, with its famous gliding step in two tracks, or skate skiing, with its dynamic skater’s form, our centres know exactly how to put a smile on your face in the middle of winter.

We’ll take you to five official places where the fun of skiing is definitely included.

Station Duchesnay

At Station Duchesnay, cross-country skiing combines smooth gliding, beautiful nature, and easy access. You can also plan an overnight stay at the on-site inn to extend your winter getaway and fully enjoy the experience.

Camp Mercier – Réserve faunique des Laurentides

Located in the Reserve faunique des Laurentides, Camp Mercier has long been recognized for its exceptional winter conditions. Thanks to its higher elevation and favorable microclimate, snow arrives early in the season and stays late into the spring.

The site also features a network of heated shelters along the trails, perfect for warming up and enjoying a snack break. Under Sépaq’s family policy, children aged 17 and under can ski and borrow equipment free of charge when accompanied by an adult.

Centre Castor

Located in Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier and connected to the nearby military base, Centre Castor is well known for the exceptional maintenance of its trail network. The trails are carefully groomed and track-set for both classic and skate skiing, ensuring smooth and consistent conditions.

At Sentiers du Moulin, cross-country skiing shares the spotlight with other winter passions: fat biking, snowshoeing, downhill skiing, and more. The terrain is designed for winter enthusiasts, with a trail network shaped for smooth enjoyment in both classic and skate skiing.

In the heart of Stoneham-et-Tewkesbury, you’ll find a friendly, well-maintained trail network with a unique bonus: a trail that leads directly to the must-visit La Souche de Stoneham microbrewery. You can literally arrive there on skis! The center is run entirely by passionate volunteers, and that dedication is felt on every visit.
